What is Poetic Action?
It is a cultural movement that was born in 1996, by the hand of the Mexican poet Armando Alanis Polio. That year, the poet decided to gather a group of poet friends to fill the streets of Monterrey, Mexico, with poetry. The idea was to make an anthology of street poetry, and they succeeded on a grand scale. First, the white walls of Monterrey were filled with verses in black letters, one of the slogans of the movement, to pay homage to printed books. Later, the movement had more and more followers and, after filling Monterrey with verses, it spread throughout Mexico. Currently, it is a movement present in different countries around the world.
